Laverne  Roudebush, age 88, of Lyons, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 12:28 pm on Saturday, April 17, 2021, in Linton. He was born in Switz City, IN on July 15, 1932, the son of  Raymond & Mariah Floe (English) Roudebush.

He was a 1950 graduate of Switz City High School. He worked at REMC as a journeyman lineman for 30 plus years and retired from there. He was a member of Lyons United Methodist Church and enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. Sunday's were always set aside for time with family and he cherished those days.

He is survived by his loving children, Diana (Steve) Cornelius of Switz City, Teresa (Carlos) Craig of Sandborn, Doug (Michelle) Roudebush of Linton and Jeff (Jill) Roudebush of Owensville; brother-in-law who he and Ardath raised like a son, Andy Bloomer of Mississippi; grandchildren, Eric (Ann) Craig, Chris (Linda) Cornelius, Jared (Krista) Cornelius, Carrie (Jason Smith) Craig, Stephanie Watson, Josh (Jackie) Roudebush, Abby (Blake) Elpers, Paige (Ethan) Ray, Jarod Cooksey, Devin Cooksey, Tyler (Brittney) Wallace and Whitney (Aaron) Jackson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his sister, Patricia Griffith of Jasonville.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ardath (Bloomer) Roudebush; parents; brother, Doyle Roudebush; brother-in-law, Edgar Bloomer and faithful fur baby, Scooter.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 with Pastor Rose Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children or to Shriners Hospital for Children through the funeral home.
