Larry Lee Smith, age 80, of Savannah, GA, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021. He was born in Washington, IN on December 18, 1940, the son of Lewis & Mildred (Holt) Smith.

He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and attended Purdue University where he studied agriculture. In Indiana he was a farmer and cattle rancher. After moving to Michigan he worked as a marine mechanic at Simonton Lake Marina in Elkhart, IN. He was a member of Wesley Oak United Methodist Church in Savannah, GA. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He loved his family and also enjoyed a good joke.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Vera Lorene "Rene" (Meurer) Smith of Savannah, GA; daughter, Gale (Sam) Zucker; son, Kenneth Lee (Mari) Smith. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Tyler Smith, Brooklynn (Smith) O''Konski, Alexandra Smith, Danielle (Zucker) McKenzie, Kaleb Zucker and Zachary, Ariel, Claudia and Chloe Ramsey; two great grandchildren, Riley and Hunter O''Konski; brothers, Jim Smith and Tony Smith and sisters, Audrey Lett, Beverly Benham and Janice Ingram.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside memorial will be observed by the family on June 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery.
