Larry L. Sabiston

Larry L. Sabiston, 85, passed away, surrounded by his loving friends, on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his home near Worthington. He was born on November 6th, 1935, in Terre Haute to Harvey and Mila Ellen ‘Dottie’ (Brazzell) Sabiston.

Larry taught business as a schoolteacher for many years. He had a love for music at the tender age of (3) three and would quickly memorize a song on the radio and then sing that song when it was played again. At the age of (5) five he began playing the piano by ear and would continue on to write music. He was an accomplished author, poet, song writer and song arranger having written over (50) fifty songs of mostly religious content. Later, in life he was known to play for nursing homes and senior centers bringing joy to many as it brought joy to him.

Family left to cherish the memory of Larry includes: his aunt, Georgia Sabiston Dreyer of Grandville, MI and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Harvey Sabiston.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Terry Blanton and Jack Tolbert officiating. Larry will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute next to his brother.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 10, 2020 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday, at the funeral home.

In compliance with state regulations, social distancing and face masks are required by all attending. Additional regulations are allowing only fifty (50) individuals in the funeral home at one time.
