Larry Joe “Dog” Frye, 70, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born June 20, 1949 in Linton, he was the son of Clayton W. “Screwdriver” and Mildred (Minks) Frye.

He was a boiler operator at NSWC Crane retiring in 2011 after 29 years of service. He was also a truck driver and worked for the State Highway Department. He served two tours in Vietnam with the United States Army and was a member of the Crane VFW. His favorite pastime was racing cars.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Debbie Frye whom he married August 11, 1973; his children, Rose Galyan (Josh) of Solsberry, Roy Lee Frye (Michelle) of Solsberry; one brother, Donald Wayne Frye, Sr. of Solsberry; his grandchildren, Anna, Michael, Payton and Lexi; his step grandchildren, Jared and Brianna Galyan; his faithful dog, Peanut and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Alsman, Robert “Boogie” Frye, Gerald Frye and Nina Pentecost and his parents.

Private graveside services will be conducted at Ridgeport cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the Crane VFW.
