Larry Frederick Meek, age 81, of Bloomfield, passed away at 6:12 A.M. on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.  Larry was born in Worthington on May 12, 1940, the son of Cecil Z. & Alta P. (Trout) Meek.

Larry was a 1958 graduate of Worthington-Jefferson High School.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was the owner and operator of Meek Trucking in Newberry.

Larry was a Life-Member of the Worthington VFW Post #7117 and a member of the Linton American Legion Post #22.  He enjoyed his collection of Coca-Cola trucks and John Deer memorabilia.  

Larry is survived by his son, Fred (Cathy) Meek, a daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Southern, his brother, Gene Meek of Bloomfield, his grandchildren, Vernon Lee (Eva) Meek, Freddie L. Meek, Morgan Southern, and Gregory (Amanda) Southern, great-grandchildren, Larry Gene Meek, Perla, Nanci, Berto, Dulce, Izabell, Hope, Abigail, Cain, and a special nephew, Dustin (Sara) Bowersock, and their children, Quintin and Isaac.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Emma Mae Meek, sisters, Roberta Williams and Vera Whitley, and his brothers, Harold & Richard Dean Meek.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 26, 2021, with Pastor Rick Pressel officiating.  Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 A.M. until the time of service.
