Kenneth J. "Kenny" Burger
Kenneth J. “Kenny” Burger, 70, of Shelburn, IN went home to be with the Lord at 9:05 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. He was born September 11, 1949 in Brazil, IN to Glen Revel Burger and Helen (Perry) Burger.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sheryle Lynn (Seifert) Burger of Shelburn, IN who he married on January 31, 1970; daughters, Amy (Burger) Jeffries (Mark) of Terre Haute, IN, Sindy (Burger) Snellenberger (Greg) of Lewis, IN; grandchildren, Brevin, Brailey, Dylan; brothers, Donald Burger of Abilene, TX, Robert Burger (Treva Embry) of Jasonville, IN, Darrel Burger (Sally) of Jasonville, IN, Michael Burger (Laurie) of Jasonville, IN; sister, Dalinda Woods of Jasonville, IN; brother-in-law, Elden Seifert (Donna) of Shelburn, IN; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joan Strahle, Clarence Burger, Freddie Burger, Shelvy Goble, Janett Eberwine, Carolyn Anderson, Billie Crowder.
Kenny graduated from Shakamak High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He attended Friendly Grove Baptist Church. He worked for 26 years at the Glen-Gery brick plant in Brazil, IN, and for 25 years at Moore Langen Printing in Terre Haute, IN. Kenny enjoyed riding in the Ranger, and sitting on the front porch with his dogs. In his early years he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as sandblasting. He loved making apple pies on the grill and canning noodles and potatoes. Kenny’s great love was his family and the time spent with them.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020 with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Friendly Grove Baptist Church with Pastor David Smith officiating.
Interment will be at Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Kenny. Envelopes are available at the Church.
