Karen Elaine Sullivan
Karen Elaine Sullivan, 74, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Born April 10, 1945 in Sullivan, Indiana, she was the daughter of Herman Gibbs and Edith (Morrison) Lewis.
Karen was a realtor, an insurance salesperson, and the office manager for the gas company in Bloomfield. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #450 in Solsberry.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Larry D. Sullivan whom she married March 5, 1965; her children, Rhonda Sermersheim (Joe), Regina Brown (Michael), Daniel Sullivan (Tina) and David Sullivan; grandchildren, Alex Sullivan, Grace Black, Elizabeth Roysdon (Nick), Adriana Sullivan, Meredith Black, Elaine Brown, Erin Brown, John Brown, Jeromy Brown, Amy Boyer (Robert), Katie Sermersheim, and Emily Sermersheim; sixteen great grandchildren; sisters, Rebecca Brown, Pam Michael, Sharon Browne, and Sandra Hoke; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Karen was witty, hard-working, and dedicated to her family. She loved traveling with her husband, Larry, and together they shared life’s many adventures. They met challenges during their journey with determination and celebrated accomplishments both big and small, devoted to each other to the end. Karen was most proud of her children and grandchildren taking every opportunity to share a story during conversations.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Jenkins Funeral home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Scotland Cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.
