Julie Ann Vehslage-Hinton, age 67, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at home with her daughter and husband by her side. She was born in Linton, IN on July 11, 1955, the daughter of Robert F. & Betty (Havens) Vehslage.

She spent her childhood on the family farm in Worthington where she went to school. She was a graduate of Worthington Jefferson High School and Vincennes University with a degree in nursing. She spent several years in nursing before going on to other jobs such as being the “Lobby Lady” at McDonald’s in Spencer. She loved to travel and see new places. She was a member of Tri Kappa Alpha Delta Chapter in Spencer.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Gary Hinton of Spencer; daughter, Tobey (Chad) Boruff of Bloomington; step-son, Chad (Emmalee) Hinton of Zionsville; grandchildren, Tyson Bennett, Cole Bennett, Ethan Boruff, Sydney Boruff, Elena Hinton, Calvin Hinton and Turner Hinton; sister, Jan (Bill) Minderman; brother, Jon “Sam” (Jackie) Vehslage as well as several other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Gary Tyson.
