Judith “Judy” K. Hollingsworth

Judith “Judy” K. Hollingsworth, age 79, of Linton, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born in Indianapolis on November 11, 1942, the daughter of James Reynolds, Virginia Ruth (Brown) Squire & Leonard Squire.

She was a graduate of Center Grove High School in Greenwood. She worked for 27 years at Zion’s Hill Baptist School in Linton as an art teacher. She attended Tennessee Temple College until being called to serve as an art teacher. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Dugger and took care of all the meals for the children who attended Vacation Bible School every summer for over 20 years. She also sang in the Gospelettes with her family. She cherished every single moment she got to spend with her children and she also cared for any other child who came into her life. Her memory will live on through her family especially her love for canning fruits and vegetables from their large garden and shared those canned goods with those she loved and cared about.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, James “Jim” Hollingsworth of Linton; children, Leigh-Anne (Matt) Neff of Linton, Dirk (Candi) Hollingsworth of Linton, Keith (Michelle) Hollingsworth of Linton and Rebecca Hollingsworth of Linton; grandchildren, Chelsea (Nathan) Skinner and Blake (Ireyland) Kramer; four great grandchildren; brothers, Jim Reynolds, John (Jenny) Reynolds, Timothy (Becky) Squire; step brother, Jack (Betty) Squire; sisters, Janet (Ken) Maxwell, Joyce (Jimmy) Land, Kathy (Mike) Berwick and Melany (Terry) Page; step sister, Holly Snook and brother-in-law, Bob Habich.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather; grand baby who she has now met before us all in Heaven; sister, Jean Habich; brother, Jerry Lee Reynolds and step brother, Bill Squire.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Thursday, May 12, 2022, officiated by John Reynolds. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 pm, and on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion’s Hill Baptist School through the funeral home.
