Judith D. Koons, age 72, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 7:59 am on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born in Linton on September 16, 1948, the daughter of R. Darrell Dugger & M. Lorene (Dudley) Dugger.

Judy was a 1966 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. She worked at Glenburn Nursing Home as an activities director, adoring the residents she was able to work with.  From 1985 to 1995, Judy delivered newspapers for the Linton Daily Citizen, then purchased the Strawberry Patch in 1996.  She owned and operated the Strawberry Patch for many years.   

Judy was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church, and the Eastern Star.

Judy enjoyed working with others, crafts, loved camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by husband of 54 years, Ronald Koons of Linton, two daughters, Cathie (Lonnie) Land and Christy (James) Cox, grandsons, Kevin (Hailey) Ivy and Wyatt Land, two granddaughters, Ashley (Jeff Allen) Colvin and Lauren Land, great-grandchildren, Jimmy Ray, Ace Eugene Colvin, McKenzie Allen, Bradley Land, and Payton Ditzler, and a great-granddaughter due in December.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunts, Elizabeth Dudley and Cecile Smith, and uncle, Kenny Dudley.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 8, 2020, with Kevin Beard officiating. Burial will follow at in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm, and  from 10 am until the time of service.
