Josephine L. Hale, age 90, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at her son's home in Linton. She was born in Arlington, IN on March 24, 1932, the daughter of John & Mary (Fergusen) Davis.

She was a 1950 graduate of Arlington High School. She was a homemaker until her marriage to William K. Hale on January 12, 1964. She then became a co-owner of Paint-N-Paper Place (Porter Paints), Gambles Hardware and then retired from Park-View Motors all of which she co-owned with her husband. She enjoyed bookkeeping, taking care of her family and working outside with her flowers. Josephine was a member of the United Methodist Church in Linton.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Linda (Larry) Morton of Jasonville, IN and Brenda (Gary Bruner) Denny of Danville, IN; sons, Bill (Angie) Hale, Jr. of Linton, IN and John (Jennifer) Hale of Linton, IN; grandchildren, Jaime (Scott) Moore, Amy (John) O'Keefe, Bryan Denny, Austin Hale, Gabby (Reagan) Hale, Alison Smith, Taylor Grove and Jenna Grove as well as 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William "Bill" Hale, Sr.; sister, Geraldine "Jerry" Herbert; brother-in-law, Leo Herbert and nephew, Mike Herbert.

Graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 with Rev. David Tyra officiating.
