John E. Gardner Sr., age 66, of Linton, lost his brave battle with lung cancer on July 31, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on September 24, 1957 to Earl L. Gardner and Betty J. (Colson) Gardner.

John was a "Jack Of All Trades." John worked as a tree trimmer at his family owned business "Expert Tree." He later worked in the auto industry and owned and operated a small car lot. John ran a drive thru restaurant in Jasonville as well. Most recently he owned and operated the Greene County Auction in Linton.

John was a kind, loving, and hard working man.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terri (Lifford) Gardner and one son; John E. Gardner, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Arrangements are in care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home.
