John Dayhoff, Jr.

John Dayhoff, Jr., 87 of Linton, Indiana passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton, Indiana. He was born in Worthington, Indiana on November 26, 1932 to John William & Mildred Louise (Pruett) Dayhoff.  He married the ‘Sunshine’ of his life, Nellie Yvonne ‘Connie’ (Lynch) Dayhoff on June 2, 1955.

John was a US Army Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and the American Legion. John was a Union Millright, working as a construction contractor, building over 35 new homes and bridges and was also a livestock and grain farmer.

Family left to cherish the memory of John include: his wife Connie Dayhoff; one son, David (Lynnette) Dayhoff of Clay City; one daughter, Lisa Dayhoff (Jeff Parker) of Worthington; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward (June) Dayhoff of Columbus, IN; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

John was preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Doug Dayhoff; four brothers and one sister.

A private graveside service for immediate family (to comply with current social restrictions) will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Walker Cemetery in Jasonville with Dan Holtsclaw officiating.
