Joan Catherine Dooley Gilliland, 81, of Bloomfield passed away Saturday, August 6th 2022 at the Owen Valley Heath Campus. Born November 5th, 1940, to her parents Clarence Monroe and Catherine Dooley.

Joan was the most sincere, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. In her teen years, she met the love of her life and married Jerome David Gilliland on February 13th, 1957. Together, Joan and her beloved husband Jerry had five children: Patrick Gilliland, Pamela (Danny) Todd, Bradley Gilliland, Brian (Kristi) Gilliland, and Robert Gilliland. Joan was the grandmother of fourteen grandchildren including Mitzi Moss, Lana Romanoff, Valery Todd, Cheryl Brennan, Dana McGowen, Jerad Gilliland, Bret Todd, Ashley Shonk, Kristin Campo, Abbey Gilliland, Taylor Sawyer, Alley Arford, Maizy Gilliland, and Brennan Gilliland; 24 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include her sister, Barbara Dooley and brother, Mike Dooley.

Joan loved spending time with her family and did whatever it took to help provide. She always went the extra mile for those she loved, especially her dear husband Jerry and her five children. Joan had a contagious smile and enjoyed making those around her laugh. Her sweet soul will be missed by so many.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Catherine; her brothers, Gene, David, and Richard; and her grandson, Curt Davis.

Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. on Saturday August 13th, until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home.
