Jerry Wasnidge

Jerry Wasnidge, 84, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 8:55 A.M. Sunday, November 8, 2020 in Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan, IN. He was born May 17, 1936 in Jasonville, IN to Lowell Wasnidge and Olive (Yeryar) Wasnidge.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Gail (Bolinger) Wasnidge of Jasonville, IN; children, Kathy Townsend (Roger Smith) of Calvertsville, IN, Kevin Wasnidge of Coalmont, IN, Kimberly Daniels (Jeff) of Hebron, KY, Rob Gambill (Missy) of Staunton, IN, Jerry Lee Wasnidge (Stacy) of Jasonville, IN; 17 – grandchildren; 5 –  great-grandchildren with one on the way; Uncle Harold “Red” Yeryar; brother in-law, Willard Weir; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dejah Lorraine Weir, brothers, Claude Wasnidge (Marilyn), Phillip Wasnidge (Naomi “Red”), step-son, Tony Cazee.

Jerry loved to fish, hunt, trap, pitch horseshoes, watch westerns and in later years listening to westerns on tape. On his 50th birthday his wife bought him a river cabin where they stayed a lot and cat fished. Jerry was an avid gun collector. He was a big IU fan. Jerry loved get-togethers and decorating for Christmas. Jerry was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Jasonville American Legion Post #172, He retired form Hydro-Power in Terre Haute.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday and from 1 to 3 P.M. Friday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 3 P.M. Friday, November 13, 2020 with Pastor David Smith officiating.

Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN with Military Graveside Rites.
