Jennie Lou Sparks
Jennie Lou Sparks, age 75, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Linton on April 11, 1945, the daughter of Jack J. and Mildred M. (Scott) Allen.
Jennie was a 1963 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and in later years Ivy Tech, graduating with a Business Administration Degree. She formerly owned and operated Calico Charms & Country Treasures in Linton, where she taught macramé and sold crafts. She spent many years doing seamstress work for her family and individuals in the area. She enjoyed doing seamstress work, Linton Miner Football, baking, and shopping. She loved all of her pets.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Brad (Tami) Sparks of Linton and Bryan (Alyson) Sparks of Switz City, a step-daughter, Karen (Toren) Rash of Bloomfield, seven grandchildren, Nathan Rash, Hannah (Anthony) Price, Olivia (Brice) Borders, Owen Sparks, Claire Hockman, Aidan Sparks, and Deklan Sparks, and two great-grandchildren, Hadley Price and Adalee Borders, and brother, Joe Allen of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wendell R. Sparks on May 21, 2020, and her sister-in-law, Karen Allen.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Thursday, September 24, 2020, from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service at 7:00 P.M. with Jerry Carmichael officiating.
Private family burial will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
