Jeffrey A. Lent, age 63, of Coal City, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 30, 2020, at his residence.  He was born in Linton on January 14, 1957, the son of Marion A. & Barbara (Cullison) Lent.  

Jeff was a graduate of Wabash College in Mt. Carmel, Illinois with an associate degree in coal mining.  He was a self-employed farmer and school bus driver, taking several children to and from school at Owen Valley Schools.  

Jeff truly enjoyed working with cattle and was always willing to help others.

He is survived by his wife whom he married on August 4, 1984, Doris Ann (Reynolds) Lent, two sisters, Loina Reynolds of Coal City and Janine (Keith) Kramer of Bicknell, three uncles, Lawrence Lent, Robert Cullison, and Dale Cullison, an aunt, Geraldine Nicholson, nieces, Gena Reynolds, April (Kenny) Legg, Stephanie (Damon) Golish, Jennifer Kramer, Cheryl (Ike) Hoagland, David (Andi) Baughn, and Debbie (Gerald) Pruett, and his life-long friend, Brent Hawkins.  

He is preceded by his parents.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m.  

At 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, a public funeral procession will begin at the funeral home, taking Jeff by his family farm where his tractor will then lead him to his final resting place at Fiscus Cemetery in Coal City.  Graveside rites will be given prior to burial.
