Jean Resler

Jean Resler 92, of Bloomfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Hearthstone in Bloomington. Born July 4, 1926 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Fredrick Olaf and Verna (Hill) Wright.

Jean was a medical assistant for Dr. M.S.Mount in Bloomfield for 38 years. She was co-owner of Resler Block with her husband. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield, serving as treasurer as well as Sunday school teacher, also a Delta Theta Tau a Philanthropic sorority. She was a member of the “ERH” 1st Baptist cooks, the Order of Eastern Star and the Lady Elks. She was one of the original Monday morning coffee girls of Bloomfield.

Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Nancy Ann Sullivan (Norman) of Solsberry; her brother-in-law, Jim Resler of Bloomfield; sister-in-law, Marjorie Bland of Terre Haute; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Resler on September 2, 2000, one brother William Wright and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield, with Rev. Nathan Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, 500 N. Lincoln Dr. in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church food pantry or IU Health Hospice.
