Janie Beth Elliott, age 68, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 6:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 19, 2021, surrounded by her family at her residence.  Janie was born in Linton on December 1, 1952, the daughter of Don & Norma (Alsop) Elliott.  

Janie was a 1970 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School.  Throughout the years, she worked at Silver Star Families where she served as chaplain and vice-president.  She was an Indiana Hoosier Heroine Winner and also volunteered with soldiers at Walter Reed.  She was a mentor at Pregnancy Choices, and also a writer of children’s books.  

Janie was a Christian and served as an evangelist at multiple places.  She enjoyed her grandchildren, singing, playing piano, reading, writing, the Bee Gees, and was always talking to and about Jesus.

Janie is survived by her parents of Linton, two sons, Kade (Timberly) Ferree-Puckett and Brandon (Heidi) Puckett, both of Linton, six grandchildren, Cody Puckett, Madi Riggs, Ramsey Ferree, Dawson Chesterfield, Jazz Ferree-Puckett, Avery Puckett, and Ian Puckett, great-grandchildren, Kaiden, August, Carson, and one due in the spring, two sisters, Debbie (Kevin) Francis and Cathy (Bret) Hobbs, both of Linton, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton and Visitation will be held at the funeral home.
