James Steven "Steve" Noel, age 70, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. He was born in Linton on August 6, 1948, the son of Jimmy S. & Mary Jo (Livingston) Noel.

Steve was a graduate of Worthington-Jefferson High School and attended Vincennes University. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving our county in the United States Army. He retired after 36 years of service from the Air National Guard in Terre Haute. He also retired from NSWC Crane after many years of service.

He was a member of the Linton B.P.O. Elks #866, the American Legion #106, and the V.F.W. #7117, both of Worthington.

Steve enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, and going to the beach with his family.

He is survived by his wife whom he married August 16, 1968, Ann (Lee) Noel, his daughters, Beth Ann Stanley of Linton and Rebecca (Chip) Allen of Bloomfield, his four grandchildren, Christopher (Michaela) Reel, Alex (Tori) Reel, Lucy Allen, and Millie Allen, and his two brothers, Tim (Kathy) Noel and Eric (Melissa) Noel, both of Worthington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son-in-law, Doug Reel.

Graveside service will be held at Worthington Cemetery at 12 noon on Saturday, November 17, 2018, with full military rites. Immediately following the graveside service the family would like to invite and encourage all friends to join them for a meal provided at Folsom United Methodist Church in Worthington for a time of fellowship and sharing of memories.
