James "Jim" Edmonson

James “Jim” Edmonson, age 71, of Jasonville, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Linton, Indiana on September 20, 1950, the son of Chester B. & Nettia (Higar) Edmonson.

He worked for Navistar and GE until he retired. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Worthington American Legion. He loved spending time with his family at the river, riding 4-wheelers, fishing, mushroom hunting but his favorite thing to do was tease his grandchildren every chance he got.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Edmonson of Jasonville; daughter, Jennifer (Henry) Moore of Indianapolis; son, Chris (Kendrah) Edmonson of Indianapolis; step-daughters, Jessica (William) Mealey of Wyoming, Jamie Hollifield of Linton and Angel House of Indianapolis; step-son, Joshua Hollifield of Jasonville; grandchildren, Tait Fahey, Mika (December) Fahey, Jacklynn Sumner, Jaylynn Sumner, Tori (Douglas) Stephens, Marina Edmonson, Shauna Edmonson, C.J. Edmonson, Keena Edmonson, Tama Edmonson, Joshy Gillenwater, Alexis Root, Andrew Mealey, Jesse Mealey, Anthony Helton, Evening Hollifield, Julia Hollifield; brother, John Edmonson and several great grandchildren .

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren, Faith Lee, Anna Mealey, Jaxson Hollifield and Jack Sumner, Jr.; siblings, Judy Samm, Chester K. Edmonson, Darrell Edmonson and Donald Edmonson.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday, January 7, 2022 with Melinda Tatman officiating. Burial will follow at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, and on Friday from 1:30 pm until the time of service.
