James "Jim" Bradley Gaither, 60, of Linton, Indiana passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020. He was born on August 13, 1959 in Linton, Indiana to the late Paul and Martha Lorraine (Brogan) Gaither of Linton, Indiana.

Jim married his wife, Sherry Bunte on June 27, 1986.

He started working at Hoosier Energy in February of 1981 when the plant opened. He had some of the best memories and friends from working for almost 40 years with some of his most beloved people. He was a member of the IBEW Local 1393.

Jim loved to fish, cook, and watch sports. Any Indiana Hoosiers team was his favorite topic of conversation, and any meat on the grill was a good day in his book.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 34 years, Sherry (Bunte) Gaither; along with two children, Jesse Gaither of Linton, Indiana and Emily (Jed) Bauer of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Penelope "Nelly" Bauer; and one sibling, Thatcher (Shelva) Gaither.

He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Gaither, his mother, Martha Lorraine Gaither, and brother, Robert Gaither.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 4, 2020 with Pastor J.D. Rose officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 and on Thursday from 1:00 until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent to the Greene Sullivan State Forest through the funeral home.
