James H. Gallagher, 68, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 12:41 A.M. Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. He was born August 5, 1952 in Terre Haute, IN to Cecil Robert Gallagher and Audrey Ruth (McDaniels) Gallagher.

Survivors include his sons, James Nelson Gallagher (Glenda) of Jasonville, IN, John Robert Gallagher of Jasonville, IN; former wife, Carolyn Young of Linton, IN; 3 – granddaughters, 2 – grandsons; 10 – great-grandchildren; sister, Reba Robinson of Sullivan, IN; brothers, Mike Robert Gallagher (Vickie) of Terre Haute, IN, Cecil Thomas Gallagher of Putnamville, IN; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doretta Cunningham, Sandy Napier.

James had worked for Sam’s Club in Terre Haute for over 23 years. James was a U.S. Army Veteran and served with the 101st Army Airborne out of Fort Cambell, KY. He was a member of Hymera Masonic Lodge # 588 F&AM, Zorah Shrine Valley of Terre Haute, Greene County/Sullivan County Shrine Club, Hymera American Legion Post# 298.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 8 P.M. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 with Bro. Alan Borders officiating. There will be a Masonic Memorial Service at 7 P.M. as well as Military Rites at the close of the service Wednesday. In keeping with James’s wishes cremation is scheduled.
