James Curtis Easter

James Curtis Easter, 58, of Bedford, IN passed away Wednesday March 3, 2021 at his residence through SouthernCare VA Hospice Services. Born December 9, 1962 in Huntsville, AL the son of Neil Avron and Laura Etta (Childers) Easter, graduated with the Bloomfield High Class of 1981.

“Jimmy” was a United States Navy Veteran. He served as a Radioman from 1983 to 1987 on the USS Coral Sea (CV-43). He was a member of Cancer Support Community of Central Indiana for Veterans Facing Cancer Together and Whole Health for Life. He was an avid donor to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Build Indiana Fund, and Indiana University Foundation.

Surviving relatives include his daughter, Lauren “Danielle” Easter (Best) of Virginia Beach, VA; son, Army Specialist Avron Curtis Easter of Odon; grandchild, Leo Axel Easter; brother Ricky Easter (Karen); sister Michelle Quearry (Dan); many “adopted” kids, nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Josiah Quearry of Bloomfield; and nephew Christian Quearry of Ellettsville.

His daughter and grandson invite you to participate in their continued efforts with Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) and Relay for Life charities in Jim’s name.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 20, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. His Chaplain, Kelly, will be officiating.

A graveside service and burial will be at the Easter family plot in New Canaan Cemetery in Empire, Alabama. The Family is planning the service for Sunday March 21, 2021.
