Ival VanDorn "Dorn" Foglesong
/Ival VanDorn “Dorn” Foglesong 89 of Linton, Indiana, formerly of Quincy, Illinois and New London, Missouri passed away on January 22, 2020 at his home in Linton, Indiana. He retired from Motorola in Quincy, and Blessing Home Health.
He was born at home in Lomax, Illinois on October 26, 1930, the son of Iva Jane (Webster) and Charles J. Foglesong. He was raised in Lomax and Hurdland Missouri where he was the salutatorian of the class of 1948.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Korea War Veteran.
On January 26, 1957 he married Linda L. Dietle in Hannibal, Missouri. She passed away on April 21, 2018. They were members of the First Christian Church of New London.
He is survived by nephews, Kent (Amy) Foglesong and Kelly (Beverly) Foglesong, both of Linton, Kerry (Traci) Foglesong of Sullivan, Jesse “Butch” Foglesong of Quincy, Robert (Ferrell) Dietle of Bowling Green, KY, and Everette Dietle of St. Louis, MO, nieces, Billie Jo (George) Fritch of Linton, Ellen Poulter of Blandinsville, IL, Fran (Chuck) Crupper of Ivesdale, IL, Julie (Roger) Colbert of Frankford, Mo, and Karla Kahl of Tulare, CA, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews, and his cats, Friday and Sue.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife, a brothers, Wm. “Bill” Foglesong and Jesse Foglesong, and a sister, Rosalind Cassill, and niece and nephew, Ronald and Janet Whiteaker.
Local arrangements are entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
Services will be held at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Missouri.
