Irven Dale Myers
Irven Dale Myers, 95, of Linton, Indiana, passed away, with loved ones at his side, on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born on August 27, 1924 in Daviess County, Indiana to Oliver Dale Myers and Hester Farrell (Hatfield) Maurer.
Dale was a US Army veteran and earned a Bronze Star serving in World War II at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Linton and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #293 at Odon. Dale was an Inspector at N.W.S.C. Crane and was also the first administrator at Ketcham Nursing Center in Odon. He retired in 1971.
Family left to cherish Dale’s memory include: one son, Aaron Douglas (Erin) Myers of Bloomington; two daughters, Myra Lynn (Chris) McCart of Punta Gorda, FL and Jennifer Lynn Myers of Linton; daughter-in-law, PJ Myers, of Linton; grandchildren, Jason Myers, Lisa Zurcher, Stephanie Owens, Bryce Myers, James McCart, Stacy Hinman and Briannah Myers; six step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Roland (Pat) Maurer of South Bend.
Dale was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Steven Myers; brother, David Maurer; sisters, Laveda M. Bryant, Hazel Fern Myers and Phyllis McCormick.
Funeral services honoring Dale’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at First Christian Church in Linton. Dale will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora, following military graveside rites.
Family and friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church at Linton. Envelopes will be available at the church.
