Howard H. Huffman, age 86, of Switz City, formerly of Monroe, Michigan, passed away at 10:08 P.M. on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Autumn Trace Assisted Living in Linton. He was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 31, 1936, the son of Pinkney and Margaret (Little) Huffman.

Howard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of H & H Floor Covering in Monroe, Michigan for over 30 years.

He enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical and figuring out how things work. He was philosophical and loved to challenge the mind.

Howard was a member of the Switz City Christian Church.

He is survived by two sons, James David (Karen) Huffman and Howard L. (Nancy) Huffman, both of Monroe, Michigan; a daughter, Rebecca (Mike) Chapman of Lyons; daughter-in-law, Darla Huffman; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Ingrid “Dolly” (Gary) O’Brien.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nadine B. (Compton) Huffman; a son, Roy A. Huffman; and siblings, Walter, Vera, Helen, and Ingram.

Private entombment will be held at Chambersville Cemetery in Spencer.
