Henry Hasler

Henry Hasler

Henry Hasler, 91, of Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Born in Bloomfield on January 15, 1928 to William and Lieuetta (McCain) Hasler.

Henry attended Park and Furnace Schools and was drafted at age eighteen into the United States Army. He was working at Combs Feed Store at that time. When Henry got out of the Army in 1947, he went to work at NSWC Crane until he retired in 1983.

Henry met his wife Ruth while working at Crane and they married April 26, 1957. Although Henry retired from Crane, his true passion and heart was for his small farm. That is where he demonstrated what it means to love and take care of the land you were raised on your entire life. He raised good crops and quality cattle on that small farm and that gave him satisfaction in his life.

Henry is survived by his son, William and wife Debbie of Bloomfield. Daughter, Norma Turner and husband Jack of Mitchell; grandchildren, Brittany (Wyatt) LeGrand and Derek (Jane) Hasler all of Bloomfield and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth on February 16, 2017, his sisters, Barbara Hasler, Ruth Gholson, Betty Jo Frye and Phyllis Miller, one brother, Lee Hasler and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Flater cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
