Gloria J. Worland

Gloria J. Worland, 77, of Linton, Indiana, passed from this life, with loving family by her side, on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Terre Haute. She was born on August 23, 1944 in Fritchton, Indiana to Samual A. and Hazel Mae (Thorne) Downen.

Gloria was married to her loving husband, Earl A. Worland on February 19, 1966.

Gloria was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton and St. Ann’s Altar Society. She was a homemaker, a farmer’s wife and later in life, she sat with the elderly and cared for them. Gloria enjoyed her flowers and Busy Bee’s Homemakers Club.

Family left to cherish the memory of Gloria include: one daughter, Kimberly Sue (James) Gardner of Coal City; two sons, Earl Anthony (Amy Sue Hauser) Worland, Jr. of Coal City and Christopher (Susie) Worland of Solsberry; eight grandchildren, Amanda Jean (Mark) Kinser, James Anthony (Katlynn) Gardner, Victoria Lynn Worland, Nathan Worland, Payton Worland, Samuel Worland, Nick Mobley and Sam Mobley; two great-grandchildren, Evelynn and Ella; two brothers, Victor T. (Karen) Downen of Monroe City and John H. Downen of New York; three sisters, Sandra Katherine Hall of Alabama, Martha Ann Downen of Vern, Indiana and Georgia (Al) Stasulis of Gulf Port, MS.

Gloria was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband of 56 years, Earl Worland; sisters, Mary Abagail Downen and Rachel Lowe; brothers, Sam Allen Downen, Robert T. Downen, Royal L. Downen, Paul Addison Downen and Anthony Downen.

Mass of Christian burial to honor the life of Gloria will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton with Father Simon Natha officiating.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. Rosary prayer service will be at 7:00 PM on Friday evening.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Peter Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
