Glenn Shonk, age 97, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 9:48 pm on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute. He was born in Linton, IN on June 10, 1924, the son of Daniel & Hettie (Spice) Shonk.

He was a graduate of Linton High School. He retired in 1986 from General Electric as a tool & dye maker. He was a member of Linton Church of Christ and was a member of the Moose Lodge #1434 and the Southwestern Indiana BMW Riders Club. He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles and riding horses when he was younger.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Betty (Lucas) Shonk of Linton; sons, Randy (Brenda) Shonk of Linton, Sherrell Shonk of Linton and Danny (Debbie) Shonk of Boggstown; daughter, Sue (Chuck) Davidson of Linton; grandchildren, Timothy (Lynn) Shonk and Sheri Shonk as well as 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of 47 years, Juanita Ruth (Perigo) Shonk; brother, Rex Shonk and granddaughter, Debbie Bievenour.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Thursday, September 9, 2021 with Brother Jerry Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
