Georgette Powell, age 71, of Jasonville, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at IU Health Methodist. She was born in Evansville on October 7, 1950, the daughter of Chester & Mary (Eller) Powell.

She was a graduate of Wood High School and of St. Mary”s of the Woods where she received her Master”s degree in Psychology. She worked as a child protection investigator until she retired. After retirement she volunteered for CASA and loved to do genealogy for people to trace their family lineage. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #1434 in Linton.

She is survived by her sons, John May of Indianapolis and Paul May of Indianapolis; brother, Gary (Betty) Powell of Jasonville; sisters, Charlotte Holcomb of Linton; Patrice (Bart) Shafford of Linton; Tina (Ed) Singleton of Linton and Lori (Mike) Branam of Bedford as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Douglas Johnson and Randy Pridemore as well as her sister, Diane Sturgis.

Graveside service will be held at a later date.
