Gary R.Christy, age 78, of Lyons, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019, at his home. He was born in Greene County, IN on July 14, 1941, the son of the late Phillip Raymond Christy & Geneva L. (Neidigh) Christy.

He was a graduate of Dugger High School. He has been a proud barber for 57 years and 42 of those have been in Linton where he became a friend to everyone. He was an avid gun collector, shooter and car enthusiast and loved going on his yearly trips to Wyoming, going to the rodeo out there and watching his beloved Western shows.

Gary is survived by his loving daughters, Lori (Daniel) Steele of Linton, Carmen (Kevin) Lillard of Bloomington, Yvonne (John) Williams of Woodway, TX and Marcy (David) Norton; grandchildren, Megan (Josh) Holdaway, Erica (Caleb) Hopwood, Caleb Steele, LeShonda (Sherrod) Martin, Kaelen Lillard, Devin Williams, Aaron "AJ" Williams and Ethan Williams; four great grandchildren; siblings, Sammie (Charles) Sheffler, Niland Raper, Phil Christy, Jack Christy, Phyllis Christy and Sarah Christy as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Judy Sanford.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm at Dugger Cemetery on Saturday, November 30, 2019, with Brother Gerald Devore officiating.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 pm.
