Gary Weinke

Gary Layne Weinke, age 67, of Linton, passed away at 9:17 am on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born in Crawfordsville on December 13, 1952, the son of Robert & Juanita (Breeden) Weinke.

He worked at the Worthington Packing Plant, Subaru Isuzu in Lafayette and for the past 13 years he worked as a Correctional Officer at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22 in Linton and was a Dallas Cowboys and gun enthusiast. He enjoyed camping and spending as much time as he could with his beloved grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Naomi (Sturgis) Weinke of Linton; children, Michelle (Brian) Wilmouth of Indianapolis, James (Christy) Weinke of Indianapolis, Amy (Doug) Chisman of Indianapolis, Travis (Tonya) Bough of Freedom, Nathan (April) Bough of Worthingon, Lacey (Tracy Cobb) Bough of Switz City and special nephew, Dana (Samantha) Weinke of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Christian, Tyler, Shelby, Brandon, Alexus, James Matthew II, Hunter, Brianna, Megan, Jordan, Kaylee, Austin, Grady, Jayven, Zachary, Ezekiel and Gabriella; great grandson, Kasen; brothers, Terry Weinke of Indianapolis and Lonny (Terri) Weinke of Terre Haute; sisters, Sandra (Cliff) Rayl of New Palestine and Nita (Brett) Clem of Sullivan; special aunt, Betty Breeden and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Private services will be observed by the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
