Gary Dean Clifford

Gary Dean Clifford, age 70, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 7:20 A.M. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born in Terre Haute on November 7, 1952, the son of Ralph Raibourne and Loretta Faye (McDaniel) Clifford.

Gary was a 1970 graduate of L & M High School. He attended diesel mechanic school in Evansville, then served in the United States Army during the end of the Vietnam War. He worked in substation construction at Duke Energy for many years.

He enjoyed collecting various items, attending yard sales and auctions, and water sports.

He was a member of the Pleasantville Community Church and the Lyons American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of nearly twenty years, Deborah R. “Debbie” (Mayfield) Clifford of Linton; his mother, Loretta Faye (Donnie) Baize; children, Derek (Jenny) Bradbury of Linton and Darcy (Blaine) Powell of Sullivan; seven grandchildren, Cole Bradbury, Hannah Bradbury, Macy (Evan) Magni, Ryleigh Fidler, Bailee (Nathan) Norris, Trey Powell and Camden Powell; one great-grandchild, Jameson Norris; and siblings, Bruce (Becky) Clifford, Dennis (Kathy) Clifford, Keith (Kathy) Clifford, Sheri (Gary) Ball, Becky (Joe) Brothers, Larry (Angie) Shoemaker, William (Connie) Wells, Judy Shoemaker, Susan (Larry) Tomlin, Ron (Gail) Baize, Jim (Stacy) Baize, and Diana (Rob) Wise.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a nephew, Cory Dean Clifford.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 31, 2022, with Dwight Gould officiating. Burial will follow at Stafford Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Carnegie Heritage and Arts Center through the funeral home.
