Garry Ray Moody, age 66, of Madisonville, KY, passed away peacefully at 11:35 pm on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Linton, IN on October 29, 1957, the son of Jerry L. & Erma (Pottorff) Moody.

He was a 1976 graduate of Worthington Jefferson High School. He worked at GE in Bloomington and then moved to Madisonville, Kentucky where he worked at the GE plant there until his retirement in 2019. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Linton for many years and also Emmanuel Baptist Church in Madisonville, Kentucky. He loved to joke around and make people smile and laugh. He loved to go fishing, Cubs Baseball, IU Basketball, buying cars, and looking at the mountains in Tennessee. He absolutely adored his girls and his grandkids because they meant everything to him.

Garry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Teressa Diane Moody of Madisonville, KY; daughters, Rachel (Robbie) Boldrey of Linton, Rebecca (Derick) Richards of Linton and Elizabeth Moody of Linton; grandchildren, Chris Boldrey, Hunter Boldrey, Dalton Boldrey, Crystal Templeton, Bryan Templeton, Katlyn Templeton, Lydia Templeton, MacKenzie Moody, Sydney Richards and Gabriel Richards; great-granddaughter, Mya Austin; sister, Melissa Robinson as well as a son-in-law, Josh Templeton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Richard LaPradd.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, with Pastor Warren Shake officiating. Burial will follow at Dugger Cemetery in Dugger.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, and Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
