Harold "Gene" Swaby, age 83, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 3:02 pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Serenity Springs Senior Living of Jasonville. He was born in Linton, IN on April 24, 1941, the son of Francis Isaac & Jessie Faye (McDonald) Swaby.

He worked at Otis Elevator as a heavy equipment operator for several years. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and going target shooting with his brothers.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Sharon Swaby of Linton; daughters, Amber (Dan) Holt and Heather (Andrew) Jancosek; grandchildren, Brooke Merry, Ashley Jackson, Victoria Holt, Jade Jancosek and Emily Jancosek; great grandchildren, Sophie Sue Jackson, Athena Merry and Jocaun Lauzon; brother, Mike Swaby as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George Francis Junior Swaby, Gerald Swaby and Larry Joe Swaby.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
