Freddie Lenning

Freddie Charles Lenning, 81, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Garden Villa of Bloomington. Born September 3, 1938 in Koleen, Indiana, he was the son of Clyde and Genevieve (Haywood) Lenning.

He retired from General Electric in maintenance after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Bloomington American Legion Post 18, Bloomington VFW Post 604 and a Life Member of the Crane VFW post 9297. He was a Boy Scout Leader when his children were growing up. He was an avid reader and loved the outdoors and his beloved mule, Francis.

Surviving relatives include: his children, Mary Runyon (Roger) of Paragon, Charles Lenning of Jefferson City, Missouri and Michael Lenning (Ronessa) of Bloomington; his siblings, Nick Lenning (Carolyn) of Spencer, Doris Hawkins of Jasonville and Brady Lenning of Piqua, Kansas; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosetta Collins, Brother, John Lenning and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Scotland cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Indiana Horse Council or the VFW.
