Fred A. Place

Fred A. Place, 78, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Friday, January 22, 2021 at his home. He was born on May 3, 1942 in Vandalia, Illinois to Fred A. Place II and Berma Ann (Shephard) Place.

Fred married his loving wife, Milea Anna (Cook) Place on January 29, 1999.

Fred was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Linton, CASA Voices for Kids Board, previous member of the Linton Civitan Club, had served as President on the Linton-Stockton School Board and was a lifetime member of the NRA. Fred was an avid hunter and a huge CUBS fan. He enjoyed fishing with his family and loved coaching. Fred was a Public Accountant, owning Fred Place Financial Services for over 50 years, retiring in 2016.

Family left to cherish the memory of Fred include: his wife, Anna Place; daughter, Laura L. (Jeffrey) Dayhoff of Carmel; son, Bryan (Shaye) Place of Linton; step-sons, Mickey (Soyla) Heath of Texas and Monty (Amie) Heath of Sandborn; grandchildren, Ashley (Jake), Trent, Jordan (Sally), Caden, Lydia, Ashlyn (Tony), Analise, Synthia, Milea, Tyler, Andrew and Megan: great-grandchildren, Sylis, TJ and Lainey.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth ‘Skip’ VanDoren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church in Linton with Pastor John Riker officiating. Fred will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the church.

In compliance with state regulations, social distancing and face masks are required by all attending.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made in memory of Fred to CASA Voices for Kids or to Calvary Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home, 89 C St. NW, Linton, IN 47441. Envelopes will also be available at the church.
