Floris "Bill" G. Richardson, age 105, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 2:20 pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Linton Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born in Linton, IN on October 2, 1913, the son of Thomas W. Richardson & Frances (May) Richardson.

Bill was a graduate of Linton High School. He owned and operated the Comet Coal & Clay Mine. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Linton and the Elks Lodge #866. He also loved to brighten anyone's day by singing and was a regular customer at McDonald's in Linton.

He is survived by his niece, June Schuyler of Goleta, California; great nephew, Terence Schuyler of Santa Barbara, California; family friends, Jim and Mary Landis of Linton and Marsha Richards of Linton.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Mary V. (Branson) Richardson; siblings, Maudie, Ollie, Daisy, Claude, Lloyd, Tommy and Lee;
niece, Barbara Cassida and best friend, Anna Lee Wright.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Saturday, June 1, 2019, with Pastor John Winders officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
