Evelyn Haywood

Evelyn Haywood (York), 93, of Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Bloomington. Born on December 20, 1925, she was the daughter of Dennis and Millie (Barker) York.

Evelyn lived all her life in the Bloomfield area, graduating from Scotland High School in 1943. She was married to Philip Haywood on February 12, 1949. Evelyn retired from NSWC Crane after 45 years of services. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, previous member of the Mt. Nebo United Brethren Church and the Mineral United Methodist Church, Psi Iota Xi and NARFE.

Evelyn is survived by her two children: Jane Ann Toon of Bloomington, P.D. (Sophie) Haywood of Bloomfield; Grandchildren: Jade (Cindy) Toon of Indianapolis, Andrew (Sharon) Toon of Terre Haute, Alex (Jessica) Weathers of Nashville, Indiana, Drew Haywood of Seymour; Great Grandchildren: Macy Toon, Abby Franklin, Perry Franklin and Macy Franklin all of Indianapolis; one brother, Chet (Pat) York of Greenville, Illinois and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Philip, son-in-law, Mont Toon, brother, Charles York and parents, Dennis and Millie York.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Scotland cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church Building and Remodeling Fund.
