Esther McDaniels, age 79, of La Vergne, TN, formerly Linton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at home. She was born in Linton, IN on February 5, 1942, the daughter of Ernest & Ethel (Newlin) Taylor.

She was a graduate of Linton High School. She worked for several years at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. She enjoyed sewing and reading but she loved spending time with her family.

Esther is survived by her loving children, Rita (Jeff) Wood of La Vergne, TN, Matt McDaniels of La Vergne, TN and Tim (Dee) McDaniels of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Jessi Wood, Jacob Wood, Tera Belcher, Casey McDaniels and Dustin McDaniels; great grandchildren, Kain Belcher, William Belcher and Bentley McDaniels as well as her brothers, Eugene Taylor and Joe Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack McDaniels; parents; sister Maggie Sluder and brother, Robert Taylor.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Arrangements have been entrusted with Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
