Emma Jean Greenwood, 89, of Ellettsville, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer. She was born in Worthington, Indiana on December 10, 1931 to Ferdinand and Mazel (Mast) Miller.

Emma graduated from Worthington Jefferson High School in 1950. She married George Greenwood Jr. on July 2, 1950 in Spencer, Indiana. Emma had worked as a cashier for IGA in Spencer for several years. She also was a pharmacy technician working for Walmart in Spencer and retired from Kroger in Bloomington. Emma was a member of the First Christian Church in Spencer and attended the Ellettsville Christian Church. She was also a member of the Spencer Lions Club and Lydia Women''s Circle. Emma enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a dear friend too many who will be missed dearly.

Emma is survived by her two daughters, Georgeanna Sims (Jon) of Bloomington and Cheryl Foster (Larry) of Spencer; five grandchildren, Amy Houshour (David Dobbs), Michelle Parker (Joshua), Elisha Greenwell (Keith Nanny), Mandy LaFon (Jim) and Nikki Sims; ten great-grandchildren, Andrew Parker, Brianna Greene, Raven Fulk, Brooke Parker, Jordan Parker, Kayden Greenwell, Skylar Houshour, Lyla LaFon, Kalynn Nanny and Brayden Nanny; one sister-in-law, Jeannie Miller; and several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George Greenwood Jr., and nine siblings.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Allan Lewis and Pastor Byron Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
