Elmer Wayne Hostetter

Elmer Wayne Hostetter, 83, of Lyons, Indiana, went to Heaven with family by his side, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on March 9, 1941 in Marco, Indiana to Clyde L. and Thelma Elizabeth (Ausman) Hostetter. Elmer married the love of his life, Marilyn L. (Sipes) Hostetter on December 9, 1962.

Elmer was a US National Guard veteran. He was a member of the Marco United Methodist Church and Linton BPO Elks #866. Elmer was in the first graduating class of the new L&M School in 1959. He enjoyed following local sporting events especially basketball. Elmer was a farmer for 51 years before retiring in 2010. Life is about the seeds you sow, if there are combines in Heaven, he’s already picking the end rows.

Family left to cherish the memory of Elmer include: his wife, Marilyn Hostetter; daughter, Lori (Darren) Burch of Bloomfield; son, Brian (Chris) Hostetter of Lyons; grandchildren, Clayton (Emily) Burch, Mitchell (Nicole) Burch, Carter Hostetter, Wyatt McCammon and Hayden Cunningham; brother, Kenneth ‘KD’ (Shari) Hostetter of Lyons; sister, Naomi Kayton of Carmel and sister-in-law, Karen Hostetter of Lyons.

Elmer was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Clyde E. Hostetter, one sister and brother-in-law, Lois and John Brown.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Ron Haynes officiating. Elmer will be laid to rest in Marco Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 15 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the WRV and Bloomfield Athletic Departments. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
