Elizabeth "Maxine" Morse

Elizabeth “Maxine” Morse, age 77, of Columbus, IN, formerly of Greene County, IN passed away at 3:48 P.M. on Friday, January 1, 2021, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.  She was born in Linton on March 11, 1943, the daughter of Lester & Violet (Pake) McDonald.

Maxine was a 1961 graduate of Switz City Central High School.  She and her husband also lived in Cincinnati, OH where she worked in a chiropractor’s office and was on a volunteer life squad.  They moved to Columbus, IN in 1994 where she was a homemaker.  She enjoyed bowling, crafting, sewing, and making trips to Greene County to visit family.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Linton First Christian Church.  

She is survived by her husband of over 43 years, Steve Morse of Columbus, IN, two daughters, Debra (Jeff) Stahl of Worthington and Dawn (Mark) Like of Worthington, two grandchildren, Dustin (Lisa) Stahl and Megan (Trent) Stogsdill, five great-grandchildren, Sage, Mason, and Ayden Stahl, Maelin and Linlee Stogsdill, a step-great-granddaughter, Olivia McKee, step-sisters, Debbie Corbin of Linton and Vicki (Phil) Henson of TN, step-brothers, Terry (Brenda) Pletch of Frankfort and Larry (Donna) Pletch of Linton sisters-in-law, Ethel McDonald of Linton and Susan McDonald of Elberfeld, brothers-in-law, Con Passen of Switz City and Don Jenkins of Bloomington, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Monroe Wall, parents, her step-mother, Maxine McDonald, sisters, Mabel Padgett, Annie Passen, Delores Eikelman, Mary Lorene McDonald, and Patricia Jenkins, brothers, Lester “Tuffy” McDonald, Franklin Dee McDonald, and Harold “Butch” McDonald, a nephew, Brian Featherston, and a niece, Tina Bovenschen.

Funeral service will be held at Linton First Christian Church at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 7, 2021.  Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery.  

Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M., and Thursday from 9 A.M. until the time of service.  

Due to the current State of Indiana Mandate, 50 people will be allowed at one time in the church during visitation. During only the funeral service, more than 50 people will be allowed, however social distancing will still be required. 

Arrangements are in care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
