Eleanor June Shacklett, 77, of Linton, IN passed away at 12:04 P.M. Monday, September 28, 2020 in Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born October 23, 1942 in Greene County, IN to Lister “Tubby” Mitchell and Hazel (Gambill) Mitchell.

June married Brian Shacklett December 20, 1963 and he passed away on January 31, 2017.

Survivors include her siblings, Barbara Scott of Jasonville, IN, Patsy Hill (Jerry) of Jasonville, IN, Beverly Brashear of Linton, IN, Sharon West (Johnny) of McCordsville, IN, Tommy Mitchell (Shelia) of Blackhawk, IN, Robert Mitchell of Jasonville, IN, Jimmy Mitchell of Jasonville, IN; many nieces and nephews, a special sister, Elizabeth Nicely of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Jerry Mitchell, sister, Shirley Sapp.

June graduated Midland High School Class of 1960 and from Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, IL with a Nursing Degree. She worked in Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN for many years and later in nursing homes and for home health care. June loved shopping, and to say that she enjoyed buying jewelry was an understatement. June was a member of and attended Lebanon Baptist Church in Midland, IN.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with June’s wishes cremation was scheduled. There will be a Graveside Service and burial at Antioch Cemetery near Dugger, IN on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Mike Rotman officiating.
