James Alfred Jackson
/James Alfred Jackson 77, of Owensburg, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Hearthstone Health campus in Bloomington. Born December 12, 1940 in Owensburg, he was the son of Alfred Ray and Lottie (Caudell) Jackson.
Jim worked at NSWC Crane and was a farmer. He was on the Board of Director’s for REMC for 34 years. He was a member of the Owensburg Baptist Church, the American Legion and VFW.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Sharon (Evans) Jackson whom he married August 20, 1959; one daughter, Julie Maze (Bill) of Owensburg; two sons, James T. Jackson (LeAnn) and Jeffrey W. Jackson (Angie) both of Bloomington; two sisters, Nancy Leveque and Rita Anderson both of Bloomington; one brother, Jackie Jackson of Owensburg; his grandchildren, Chris, Heather and Keith; step grandchildren, Ryan, Taylor and Dustin; four great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jay Collins and Keith Maze officiating. Interment will follow in Owensburg cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1 hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
