Dorothy (Corbin) Bemis, age 88, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Glenburn Home. She was born in Linton, IN on January 19, 1933, the daughter of John & Edna (Bough) Corbin.

She was a 1951 graduate of Linton High School and met who was to become her beloved husband, John Bemis, who preceded her in death in 2013. She worked at JC Penney”s and the license branch for some years but her favorite job was being a CNA and care giver for people around town and in nursing homes. She was a member of Linton Assembly of God enjoyed making porcelain dolls and had a very creative mind. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Dennis) Kristler of Linton; son, David (Kim) Bemis of Westfield; grandchildren, Jamie Markle, Jennifer (Brent) Veach, Shaun (Tal) Bemis, Laura (Nathan) Newby and Ross (McKenzie) Bemis; eleven great grandchildren and her brother, Jonathan Leo (Maxine) Corbin of Pensacola, FL..

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Corbin.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 with Pastor Ben Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
