Donna B. Hasler
/Donna B. Hasler, 98, of Switz City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Donna was the daughter of Clyde and Bertha (Achors) Bennett and was born on December 26, 1922. She married John H. Hasler on April 23, 1938.
Donna worked at the Bloomfield Woolen Mill and spent many years working in dress shops including Fort Myers, where she and John spent 30 winters. She handcrafted jewelry and John did stained glass. They participated in many craft fairs in Florida. She enjoyed volunteering as a Pink Lady at Greene County Hospital. Donna was an active member of the Lyons Methodist Church until declining health kept her from attending.
Donna leaves behind her beloved Daughter, Ardith (Jim) Richardson; sister, Marjorie (Murl) Summerville; grandchildren, Kristi (Fred) Hackett, Tricia Helms, Gretchen (Brian) Simmerman, Jessica (Patrick) Murphy; great-grandchildren, Hank (Megan) Hasler, Cameron Hasler, Erika Hasler, Luke (Olivia) Helms, Nicholas Helms, Jake Simmerman, Gwennyth Simmerman, Eva Murphy, Norah Murphy and Pierce Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Hasler, son, Michael Hasler, grandsons, Doug Richardson and Jonathan Hasler and sisters, Gladys Feutz, Ruby Ashcraft, Agnes Legerwood and Edith Jones.
Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Lyons United Methodist Church. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with Rev. Rose Sparks and Rev. Kate Biggs officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Scotland Cemetery. The family wishes any donations be made to the Lyons United Methodist Church in Donna’s name.
