Donn N. Liechty

Donn N. Liechty, 91, of Clay City, Indiana, passed away on December 23, 2020, at Exceptional Living Center of Brazil.  He was born on February 16, 1929, to Marco and Thelma (Weatherwax) Liechty, who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Douglas.

Donn was a life-long resident of Clay City and graduated from Clay City High School in 1947.  After farming for a few years, Donn worked for IBM in Greencastle for 30 years.  He was a member and officer of the Clay City Fair Board for many years.  He was also a long-time member of New Hope Baptist Church.  He and Mary snow birded in Apache Junction, AZ for over 30 years. His hobbies included making stained glass items and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Mary Lou (Hubbell) Liechty, who currently resides at Towne Park Assisted Living of Brazil. He is also survived by his son, Dennis (Roberta) and their two children, Christopher (Debie) and Marc (Ashley); and by his daughter-in-law, Sally, and her four children, Stephanie, Sabrina (Matt) Persinger, Derek (Shelby) and Donnovan; his brother Joe (Suzanne) Liechty and sister Hope (Art) Schlegel along with numerous nieces and nephews.    He was also blessed with five great grandchildren (Selah, Declan, Miles, Rainer, and Dani). 

Due to the current COVID restrictions, there will be a private burial now and a memorial service to be planned for late spring/early summer.
