Donald Hasler

Donald E. Hasler, age 73, of Lyons, passed away on Wed., Oct. 3, 2018, at his residence.  He was born Sept. 7, 1945, in Linton, the son of Garland & Virginia (Samford) Hasler.

Donald was a proud, retired Air Force Lt. Colonel of thirty-six years and served during the Vietnam War.  He was a graduate of Purdue University and a proud Boilermaker.  He was a farmer & enjoyed his cattle, farming, the hayfield, & the outdoors.  He loved “his Janet” & his family.

He was a member of the Linton First Christian Church and the Bloomfield American Legion Post #196.

Survivors include his wife, Janet (Hall) Hasler, whom he married June 5, 1967, two sons, Erich (Chelle)  Hasler of Atlanta, IN & Michael (Dena) Hasler of Columbus, two daughters, Linda (Chris) Cornelius of Switz City & Diana (Bradley) Robinson of Camby, eight grandchildren, Morgan Hasler, Madilyn Hasler, Grace Hasler, Melanie Hasler, Nate Hasler, Hunter Cornelius, Brayton Cornelius, & Olivia Cornelius, a sister, Laverne (Richard) Laxen of Houston, TX, & a brother, Dwight Hasler of Melbourne, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 A.M. Sat., Oct. 6, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, Archie Ellett officiating.  Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by Linton American Legion and Lyons American Legion.

Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Fri. & 10 A.M. Sat. until the hour of the service.
